LARGEST KAZAKH OIL AND GAS COMPANY CHOSE GE MERIDIUM TO IMPROVE PLANT PERFORMANCE
15.09.2017 MAINTEX

The largest Kazakhstan’s operator for exploration, production, refining and transportation of hydrocarbon chose the GE Meridium V4 platform to improve performance of its plants. This is the first implementation project of this kind in the CIS countries.

The project started in May, 2017, at two sites simultaneously. Maintex, in cooperation with one of the largest OEM suppliers, performed the works on implementation. Maintex is one of the most experienced teams with strong expertise in the field of maintenance and reliability system deployment.

The main project goal was to increase the overhaul interval. This would help reduce equipment repair costs and ensure reliability of production and technological processes at the plant.

To achieve the set goals, Maintex’s specialists completed the following tasks:

  •  Development of specifications for Meridium APM setup and configuration

  • Integration of Meridium APM with IBM Maximo

  • Training of users and administrators on Meridium APM functions

  • Pilot operation of Meridium APM

  • Transfer of Meridium APM for productive operation and service support.

In the course of the project, the following activities were also performed:

  • Recognition of critical equipment: Assessment of HSE risks as well as production and finance losses

  • Recognition and analysis of mechanisms of static equipment degradation, provision of high corrosion resistance and mechanical integrity of the equipment

  • Implementation of RBI, RCM, FMEA, and other methods

  • Integration of IBM Maximo, Meridium APM, and Honeywell Asset Sentinel, including: works and maintenance costs records, failure statistics, strategies, maintenance plans, process diagrams, and points of equipment integrity monitoring

  • Determination of equipment reliability parameters and forecasting of these parameters based on statistical data processing

  • Development and implementation of equipment maintenance programs and operation strategies to minimize risks of failure

  • Assessment of the efficiency of asset management using the business analytics tools of Meridium APM, and evaluation of modeling and scorecard system based on data from IBM Maximo.
